Run 1038 Report

Lakeside Hash House Harriers The drinking club with a running problem

Run 1038, 12 May 2004 Hare: Udder Idjit Venue: 14 Dalmont Street, Highett

Due to the overwhelming response to last weeks run report, I am writing the report again. (No-one volunteered to do this task).

Well, what can one say about Udders run? Perhaps……..??? No. It was……….. No. I know what I can say about Udders run, it had a great trifle. The run was probably one of the better runs for Udder. Unfortunately, the run was very average. The trail kept disappearing, and it only took a bit of potluck to find the trail with frequent long cold stops. We basically ran up and down streets and despite being in the Bayside area, we were never taken down to the sea. Sacrilege! I also thought that the checks were bordering on excessive. It’s good to keep the pack together. It’s not good to keep the pack waiting around.

Because of the continual loss of the trail, the run took around an hour and a half. At one point on the run, the pack had decided to turn back home under the direction of Tugger. We were literally walking back when I heard a very faint call of “On”. This call saved the run as this would have been the first run in over two years that Lakeside would have abandoned. (Incidentally, the last run that we abandoned was the run one rainy night in North Melbourne with Wet Dream and that nice English bloke that stayed at Boomerangs place).

The run was rated with a minus 5 out of a possible 27. A generous score but I think that it was saved by the food including the famous trifle by Udders wonderful mother. It must have been all that trifling training in Wales.
