What do you call a virgin hare who sets a run below 16mm of pelting rain, can’t set trail with either chalk or flour cos of said rain, has an A to B trail, and puts on a magnificent home cooked 2 course meal at the end of it? You call her courageous. There was Craven at 6.30 at the Princes Park BBQs with her pink Swiss Army knife cutting bits of pink and peach/apricot ribbon to attach to landmarks in lieu chalk/flour and fretting about the turkey in the oven. Young Alisdair was off live haring on another part of trail.
It was a green albeit wet run, through Princes Park, Royal Park, and around the old inner circle railway. (This is a private message for E&B – according to my 1974 Melways the inner circle was an actual railway back then which disappeared into nothingness at the back of the old Fitzroy Footy ground. According to my even earlier Morgans, it had Nth Carlton, Nth FItzroy and Fitzroy Stations and was a goods line only.) I’ve heard that the run circumnavigated Melb Gen Cemetery, but me and Prince were diverted from our purpose by E&B who made us pick plums in Park St Princes Hill. Lubang Oz had done his fetlock so we followed him home.
Dinner was a turkey bigger than a small garage, mash, sweet potato, cornbread, and an absolutely delicious pumpkin pie. Dinner scored a well deserved 10/10.
Senator Klingon was distributing How to Vote cards. You can see his profile at www.secular.org.au. He’s the one wearing a red dress. HIF and Barter were there spruiking the WSH AGM next Tues. HIF couldn’t get Maxine McKew off his chest, or at least a miniaturised, facsimiled, badged version of her.
