Run 1240, 26 December 2007 Hares: It Wasn’t Me & Flem Venue: 82 Leane Drive, Eltham .

We arrived for the last hash run of the year to the delightful strains of the FlemIWM musical Christmas tree. Tree music emissions continued to be engaging. Musical tree became mildly amusing, then a tad repetitive, then slightly irritating, then really irritating, until dinner time I wanted to woodchip the bloody tree, jingle bells and all.

Flem/IWM have a beautiful new house amongst the gum trees which they have pretty much built entirely themselves. It’s almost finished except for tiny details like stairs to the first floor. Gorgeous wood cathedral ceilings with cathedral windows, slightly Monsalvatty.

Being outside Connex zone 2, Cheesecake demanded a map as it is inappropriate for committee members to get lost. We took off along the bike path next to the Eltham aquaduct. Mothball tripped over a tree root and did a great save via a triple reverse somersault. Then for some reason to do with vitamin deficiency, Klingon re-enacted said trip and explained what had happened. Trails were perfectly coordinated as walkers and runners simultaneously coalesced at drink stop. The runners had an extra loop for the hardy FRBs. Runners were perved on by several llamas and 2 rabbits (now 8 rabbits). You can never have too many hills and we had lots which was marvellous given that it was a trillion dgrees in the shade.

IWM entertained while Flem got dinner ready wearing his Kris Kringle apron with metre-long blow-up appendage. He’s the only hasher who can give himself a head job.

IWM/Flem prepared an extra special Christmas dinner in the mega huge Japanese dining room with the board room table. We had Christmas  decos, crackers, mulled wine, de-cased ham (please read previous report to know fate of ham casing) chicken, 18 different salads and finished off with plum pudding with brandy custard. Lotsa kept calling it brandy bastard – she had a traumatic child interaction with custard. IWM/Flem’s cat watched us eat dinner. Apparently he sometimes eats a rabbit whole and then gets constipation.

IWM/Flem awarded 26/26 for great run and extra effort on Christmas dinner.

PS – If you want to know what Serjeant Mummie’s BOy is up to – see The Age 27/12, he’s just dug up 14,000 year old Natufian tools in Jordan.
