Run 1383, 23 Jun 2010 Hare: Udder Idjit Venue: Unit 7 350 Beaconsfield Parade, St Kilda

A small but committed pack turned up to Udder’s abode in St Kilda. Whilst dark outside, it wasn’t really all that cold when the pack departed at 6:45pm. We had a virgin runner join us – Julie. Welcome to you and we hope that you join us in the future. This was also the first night of the new Grand Mistress – Big Bang. The Fourth Reich has begun!

The run meandered through the Cantani Gardens and at the St Kida Pier, we took a left turn for what turned out to be a cheeky on back over the footbridge towards that famous landmark of the Espy Hotel. Back over the bridge, we finally found the trail as it ran past the St Kilda Baths and GG peeked through the windows of the ladies room calling out a loud On On! The run continued along the foreshore past The Stokehouse and the back of Luna Park. Lick and Stick made his presence known to the local residents of St Kilda. After running into Elwood, we came back past the home of the Klingon, St Kilda Botanical Gardens, Blessington Park and the Soup Kitchen. The run was tricky and eventually around Barkly and Carlisle Street, the pack unable to find the trail gave up and ran up Acland Street and on home. The pack was sans Cooch, who despite being a latecomer, managed to find the pack and overtook us and he found the correct trail back to Udders.

Some notable aspects of the run were the Sex Shop with the strange garments. Rae, in a fit of joie de vive, ran down paths very quickly and nearly killed a local resident when she bowled that poor innocent person over on the footpath. Apparently Rae feigned distress whilst muttering under her breath, “Take that you non-hashing infidel!”. Cheesecake was wore her extremely bright running pants that were created by Ken Done but were renamed “Ken Over-Done”. Cheesecake made a comment to me at some point that she was not game to run down alleys in St Kilda on her own in those pants. It is perhaps fitting that later on the run, some young men in a motor vehicle called out to our Cheescake and offered her $50 to remove her pants. Obviously these men confused Cheesecake as not a hasher but instead part of the St Kilda Daily Specials.

Dinner was a 3 x course extravaganza as far as English food can get. Udder with the assistance of Gargoyle offered a lovely spinach dip with bread, followed by St Kilda’s favourite of a thick hearty soup full of pearl barley. To finish off, we enjoyed Devonshire Tea with jam and cream.

The circle started and Deep Throat was reverently welcomed back as an ex GM. Astro gave a run report that went for almost as long as the run itself. Astro awarded Udder 598 points for the run and 400 for the food with a total of 998 for 1000 overall. Twisted Sister was charged for low profile as was Colours. Lick and Stick as also Udder and Gargoyle were also charged for some reason but which I fail to remember as I was acting as Grogmaster last night.

The new committee was announced with the following. GM – Big Bang SGT – Tripod Hash Kash – Lubang Oz Trailmaster – Sooty Scribe and Flasher – Bovine Breeder and Point Post Haberdash and Special Flasher- Egg & Bacon Pie (aka Quiche Lorraine) Social Secretary – Cyclone Tracy Religious Advisor and Webmaster – Klingon Checking Chicken – Udder Hash Dog – Chiko
