Run 1431, 20 Apr 2011 Hare: Cheesecake & Rolf Harris Grand Hotel 333 Burnley St (Cnr Bliss), Richmond And Hash Book Launch “More Than Bombs and Bandages” by Dr Kirsty Harris

As I type this report on Anzac Day, I think briefly about what the Anzac Spirit entails. Part of this is looking out for your mates and supporting them. So too, when a Lakesider – Rolf Harris, aka Dr Kirsty Harris has launched her book, it was good to see that a number of Lakesiders have supported her by purchasing a copy of her new book, “More than Bombs and Bandages”. This work recounts the valuable contribution of Australian Army Nursing during WW1. If you haven’t already purchased a copy of this, contact Rolf and she will happily look after you. Support your fellow Lakesider.

Autumn has arrived to Melbourne and what exactly does that mean? The return of rainy hashes, pub runs, excellent food and visits from other hashes promoting their upcoming AGM and milestone runs.

This run started at what is rapidly becoming recognised as a Richmond culinary landmark. The hash ran all over Richmond and was noted in that it rained the entire time. By the time the pack of only 6 x runners arrived at the drinkstop at Richmond Library, there was loads of hash splash to go around as a lot of the pack had already given up.

Nickel B recounted the run report in a style and manner that only he can do. There were a number of significant and palindromic runs including Lots of Fun 400, Pointy on 737, Lube Oil 121, Astro 323. Apparently Metatarsole  and Slip Her A Bundy have also achieved 222 Lakeside runs. Not wearing Hash Gear – Bovine Breeder and Flem Anyone under 10 years – Add On and Flash On. Nickel B for having a trendy wet hair look – (Something About Mary Charge) Old Boar for not wearing any hair gel Book charge to Rolf Harris and Cheesecake
