Run 1157, 28 June 2006 Hare: Klingon & Lethal Venue: The Rising Sun Hotel, Cnr Eastern & Raglan, South Melbourne Lakeside HHH AGM

Finally, it is indeed Lakeside’s AGM where Klingon Will fulfill his last task and vacant the position for the next GM. Who is the next Lakeside’s GM? We will know by the end of the night fore sure!

Around 90 runners from Melbourne Hash, Western Suburbs, D&E, Melbourne Ladies, Peninsula Hash and Lakeside got together for a night to remember. Smiling Tigermoth and Cheesecake were at the door taking charge of the registering and ordering food.  We had options of some English Sausage, Parma, fish and chips and vegetarian risotto.

Unlike other Lakeside’s runs, the run didn’t start till 7:15 PM. The loud bunch of hashers with their horns and voices took over the neighborhood and raised lots of questions in confused minds of the households. We started from the pub, crossed the Kings Way, went to the Botanical Gardens and after few on backs lost Barterbitch around the Shrine. Then we moved to Faulkner Park where we joined the walkers cross the Saint Kilda Road and had a glimpse of Albert Park before having a strong warm drink at the drink stop. At the drink stop, Todd from Western Suburbs who hadn’t seen any soccer match beyond few World Cup highlights every four years was convincing me that players should get two red cards if they have posed in previous match! After the drink stop we quickly sneaked home and warmed up ourselves with dinner and a bit of chat. Mommies Boy twisted his ankle at the end of then but gave it 21 from 20.

Visiting GM’s were charged first and then Mark, Vanessa (Highly Infection’s niece and nephew), Sue, Necrophilia and Titillator got down downs. Then it was the turn for the ex Lakeside GMs, Udder, Mommies Boy, Titillator, The Boomerang, Barterbitch, Gerbils and E&B.

E&B acting sergeant in arms of the night, took over from Klingon and charged Shah for protecting the book under his bum. Then she charged Klingon and Lethal to set the run around the Shrine and Pointy for short cutting. She picked up the Scrubber fashion pants and reported the Cheesecake offer to IBM which wasn’t something to mention.

It appeared that Chris confused E&B on a T-shirt issue and Highly put on his sexy t-shirt commemorating Lakeside 666’s run despite the presence of his niece and nephew, Mark and Vanessa. While few D&E’s blocked were charged I was interrupted and didn’t get the charges but Tangles was red carded for his dive across the King Way. Derelict was explaining while he pinched the food when we had two young intruders at the circle.  Marbles reminded Happy and Drink Stop about putting foot in the box which I didn’t get.

It appeared that Todd didn’t have good luck on the  beautiful ladies present on the night and Highly Infection couldn’t tolerate Barterbitch disappearance at the Shrine.

Klingon took charge of the circle for few moments to give away the awards for the significant runs including Mothball (200), Cheesecake (200), Astro (200), Stuckon (200), Gerbils (200). Whippet (200), Cooch (200), E&B (200), Udder (400), Barterbitch (400), Lethal (300), Point Post (500), The Boomerang (600) and GG (666).

Then Klingon announced the run awards, Best RunJanus’s farewell by Udder. Longest Run – Western Suburbs joint run by Lester Best Shiggy – Weekend away by Whippet and Cooch Best Cold Food E&B Best Hot Food – Tigermoth Best Drink Stop – The Boomerang Best Circle – Weekend away by Marbles Best weather – Lethal, heavy rain was recorded after the run

At the end Klingon finally resigned and announced Cheesecake as new Lakeside’s GM. Cheesecake in turn thanked Klingon for his contribution and announced her brand new committee: Religious Advisor – Screw Top Checking Chicken – NickleB Grog Master – Whippet Soc Sec – E&B On Sec – The Shah Hash Haberdash – E&B Hare Raiser – Prince Sergeant at Arms – Mothball Hash Cash – Tiger Moth Webmaster – Klingon
